Resources
This page will be updated in August to list more resources for home schooling parents to help you achieve your academic goals.
California Athletics for Home Schools: Providing PE classes and competitive sports teams for home schooled students for over 6 years, Todd Nash has many different sports opportunities to offer. See his website for PE classes and sports teams at www.CaliforniaAthletics.com or call him at 760-727-3604. This is a separate entity from the ISP, but both are run by Todd & Susan Nash.
Escondido Tutorial Service: ETS offers a series of classes in keeping with classical Christian education. They offer Great Books, Greek, Geometry and a large number of other classes- for more information please see – www.gbt.org
Christian Family Schools: We recommend each family also belong to a support group for other activities and support. In the San Diego County area, we recommend Christian Family Schools (CFS). There are local CFS groups in many areas of San Diego County offering park days, field trips, and other social activities for students. Todd & Susan can refer you to a local CFS support group in your area. You can also see their website for park groups and more information at www.cfssd.org
Christian Home Educators Association of California (CHEA): CHEA offers information about home schooling in general, and particularly in California. They are a great resource for information and help in answering questions for new home school families. CHEA puts on 2 conventions each year, the major convention in Southern California with many speakers, workshops, and a display hall that will provide you with many resources. They also put on a convention each year in the Bay area. website: www.cheaofca.org
Greg Beers Science: Greg Biers teaches science and math classes for home schooled students in the North San Diego County area. You can contact Greg at 760-746-4878 or visit his website at www.labsforhome.com

group activities.

Curriculum and Book Library: More information will be posted here soon about a great home school resource library where you will be able to check out (at no cost) books and curriculum.
Palomar College and other Community Colleges: Do a web search to find information about your local Community College. Your students may be able to take classes there to fulfill some of their high school requirements. Be aware that this is not significantly different than enrolling your students in the public school. It is the same peer group, and it is state funded from the same funding source that funds public schools and charter schools. We are not opposed to charter schools or Community Colleges, but if you have issues with any of these, research it before you enroll. They can be a great resource.
