Activities & Questions

There are many activities available through the support network in the area.  We highly recommend you join a CFS group in your area if you are in San Diego County.  If you are not in San Diego County, see the CHEA website for referrals to a support group in your area.  Many of these activities are provided through your support group.  This page will address many of the activities requested and frequently asked questions.

Graduation:  Graduation commencement is available for all students.  We accomplish this by joining with one of the local CFS groups for their graduation ceremony.  There is no need to duplicate something that already exists.

Transcripts:  Transcripts will be provided by CLA after graduation.  The first 3 are at no charge.  After this, there will be a $10 charge per transcript.

Report Cards:  Report cards will be available on line in the middle of the fall of 2007.  After enrollments are complete, we will be setting up the online grade reporting system and you will enter your grades online.  After this, you will be able to print out report cards from the website.  There will also be a printed copy kept in your cumulative file in the CLA office.

Field Trips:  Field trips are also organized by local support groups.  This will be a primary source of field trips.  We will also email out to the entire school enrollment other field trip opportunities we become aware of.

Social Activities: Your local support group will also have social activities.  You will also find these in your music groups, sports teams, PE classes, church group activities, and many other sources. 

Help:  If you have questions about planning your schedule, developing coursework, or any other aspects of home schooling, we will refer you to many sources of information.  Some of these are listed above and on the resources page.  Susan is available initially to help you set up your enrollment, but is not available on the initial consultation for help with coursework.  This IS available with Susan as a consulting appointment.  As you can imagine, the time spent in advising and helping with curriculum choices and planning would overwhelm any one person if they are helping a large number of people.  So there are other experts who will be available to help you as well.  Some are certified teachers if you would like this credential.  Contact us for help if you need it and we will get you a list of consultants.
